“Just like people associate sleek technology with Apple, I want people to associate us with cannabis”
St. Louis, MO is getting a brand-new theme restaurant that caters to cannabis lovers.
Diners will choose a “nugget” for deep-frying, such as red meat, chicken or cauliflower, as well as a sauce with a cannabis cultivar-inspired name like “Sweet and Sour Diesel” or “Strawberry Cough.” Guests then select a method of consumption, such as rolling the nuggets into a wrap or “packing” them into a bowl.
Classic, carb-y munchies like fries and mac and cheese will also be available as sides, should diners require an additional dose of comfort food with their order. For an extra injection of relaxation, guests can opt for a CBD-infused sauce on their meal.
The restaurant will also serve deep-fried dessert options, such as Oreos, and has plans for a Sunday brunch menu. In the near future, Schulze is hoping to bottle and sell their trademark sauces as well as design a menu of cannabidiol-infused cocktails, as Missouri recently clarified that alcoholic beverages could legally be mixed with or contain CBD.
The Division of Alcohol and Tobacco announced in February that it has “no legal authority to bar the use of CBD oil in combination with alcohol beverages as long as the oil contains no THC. If the CBD oil has no THC content, it would be considered the same as any other nonalcoholic product.”
“This is the beginning of the brand that is Fried,” said Schulze. “Just like people associate sleek technology with Apple, I want people to associate us with CBD.”
Fried opens Friday, April 12 at 1330 Washington Avenue in St Louis, MO.
